This entire build basically spawned on me wanting to play Vaal VG this league and wanting to try out Zerphi's Heart.

Mechanics:

>Doryani's Prototype, we have -150% lightning res through Melding and Thread of Hope

>Zerphis Heart giving us Souleater and insane mapping

>Elegant Hubris with Caspiro so we can ignore the jacked up attribute requirement from our amulet

Defense:

>Slayer Overleech with Vaal Pact + Claw life gain on hit

>Reflect immune

>Perma Fortify due to forbidden jewels, giving us perma Onslaught (further enhanced on tree)

>Huge Elusive effectiveness and very high movement speed

>Capped spell suppression

>Cast on Death Portal :^)

Spells might as well not exist to this character, getting 50% from spell suppression, 20% from Fortify and another 10% from Brutal Fervour. Physical Attack Damage is our weakness, but usually we are able to facetank most of the content with our insane life gain. That and lightning dots. If a rare spawns with the lightning dot ring and you're not paying attention you will simply cease to exist.
