Hey there

I always wanted to play Scorching Ray build which could clear all content this game has to offer. Unfortunately, it's not that easy without a huge amount of currency and with all monsters running at you with the speed of light in the current PoE. While browsing poe.ninja I found a few guys playing Scorching Ray totems. I've analyzed their builds, changed a few things here and there, and decided to give it a try. I invested like 10-15 ex in gear and gems and started playing this archetype since act 1.

Leveling (especially in early acts) was pure torment. Luckily, when I arrived at maps and with 3 labs completed, this build started to shine. Mapping was safe (you basically ignore 80% of map mods) and surprisingly fast for a totem build. At level 81 I decided to run Maven A9, just for fun. And this turned out to be one of the smoothest fights of all several dozen Mavens I've killed in the past. At this moment I decided to invest a little more in this build, like another 5-10 ex. Killed four Conquerors and Sirus with ease, delved a little at around ~410 depth, completed 99% quantity The Forgotten, and even completed The Feared with "Maven releases all Bosses at once" modifier (this one was extremely tough, every portal used).

Damage of my current character (5x Scorching Ray totem + 6x Searing Bond totem) is 12-16M with two factors:

  1. Totems burned the enemy for at least 1.6 seconds and applied debuff.

  2. The reason behind the damage range is the number of curses from dead totems you have on yourself. It's hard to predict or spam them before the encounter with my mana pool, so I'll stick with an average of 14M DoT DPS.
