In terms of leveling once you have picked up Ice Crash it is a far smoother leveling experience; not to say that glacial hammer is bad but it takes a back seat for a while. Single target it is far more effective than Ice Crash late game but until the campaign is over and while mapping ice crash will be the skill of choice.

I have never tried 1 handed weapons and found these to be far more effective while leveling than the slower attack speed of a two handed weapon. I will attach the link for path of building that is current as of this video below.

This is one of the most satisfying skills in the game to use in my opinion and I am loving this. It was a rough start but after I got past the first few zones things smoothed out considerably. I would normally be done with the campaign by now but school obligations are keeping the game at bay. =(
