Ice Spear Totems is one of my favourite builds ever however I really dislike the way it is played now: ZHP boss nuker. Mapping semi juiced with that build feels absolutely atrocious, unless you want to brick half of your maps you need to drop totems on the border of your screen and run as soon as a mob gets close to you.
I've been thinking how to pull a defensively comfortable version of this build even if the dps is not amazing. I've been thinking into those different approachs:
- Use annihilating light, ignore spell supression, stack as much mana as possible with Sanctuary of Tought, tried taking block but its impossible without dropping too many mana/damage nodes.
- Use a shield and cap spell supression pathing to reflexes and Magebane.
Going annihilating light puts a lot of pressure on the gear or forces you to either use a resis flask making impossible to use the chaos resis one or just ignore mana on gear in favour of stats and resis.
Using a shield and a wand is a significant dps loss even with a +2 weapon with an insane craft.
Soul mantle is not even a question at this point, dropping the self curse setup is literally zdps build no matter how much you try to scale the damage.
Those are the two versions that I've come with (preliminary pobs, still missing eldritch implicits etc):
No annihilating, more flexible and tankier version: https://pobb.in/4_-GV1JAtmif
Annihilating: https://pobb.in/vXY2pWlATeq5
I would like to see your inputs, ideas and suggestions around this build as I really want to play it.
