In Settlers league, I cooked up a build that automated Bodyswap of Sacrifice (BSoS) and Raise Zombie to occur on the same button press (any wand attack) by using a combination of Spellslinger and Poet's Pen. By investing in minion life scaling, you could get zombie life up to over 200k HP in order to (a) get a ridiculous amount of base damage from BSoS and (b) have over 10k life recovery per second because of an interaction between Maligaro's Lens and Necromantic Aegis. I was able to push the trigger rate of the interaction up to the 5.05aps breakpoint for around 15M DPS. As a bonus, Bodyswap moves the character so you end up being insanely fast when triggered at that rate as long as you could tolerate the "slideshow gaming."
The build got a big buff with the 3.26 patch; Bodyswap of Sacrifice got ~20% more damage (better scaling with minion life) and Spellslinger's base mana reservation was cut by 20%. I had a few people ask for a minimum viable version of the build so that they could play around with the weird mechanics without investing the Mageblood + ~100div that I spent on last league's version.

You can get all the interactions working on a ~level 75 character using the tree in the PoB above plus about 100c - 1div worth of uniques and some rares from the ground in campaign/white maps. The damage and defenses are paltry compared to the full investment version (obviously) but the build works and I was getting through yellow maps with the garbage gear seen in the PoB.

The linked video has a discussion of the minimum investment version including breakpoints, why certain uniques are needed, etc. It also has some ideas for paths towards scaling the build towards the min-max version. I don't plan on pushing the build all the way again this league (there are some mercenary-only mechanics that I really want to play with) but I'm interested to see what other ideas people might come up with for scaling.
