I've been wanting to move to SSFHC and complete all the content with my own build. I love casting spells, but it's always a struggle league starting them due to how hard it is to obtain cast speed on gear. So I looked into trappers/miners.
Icespear deadeye miner turned out pretty good. The video is with pretty much bare minimum gear. I've been busy with work, so I couldn't go hard in farming for harvest and essences. But those who put in the time can easily eclipse this character in terms of damage and survivability. I also don't know how mines are calculating the damage (i.e do I need to manually input number of icespears per mine, or does the 'all projectiles' do it for you).
Direct upgrades would be +1 cold weapon with high base crit chance/crit multi -> multi-mod with spell dmg & % to freeze, and whatever other stats your missing. Dying sun flask for more projectiles, crit multi on gear, +1/+2 amulets (ashes would be really good and allow you to fit in another defensive or damage aura), gear with influenced mods/implicits (I don't think I have any on my current gear), etc.. I would say in SSF if you can play a lot, you can easily reach 1-3m dps per mine in the first few days of league. If you min/maxed it, it would probably be in the 10m+ range per mine.
