The PoB has an early tree that already gets to 1.2million DPS with a 2 mod claw, WITH 1 SPECTRAL HELIX, people will usually consider that one cast can hit bosses 2-3 times depending on boss size
The PoB is also super conservative, no scorch/brittle, no intimidate, no shock
Defence against phys is actualy kind of an issue in the early game, min endurance charges on ring/amulet should be a good start. After that phys as ele is your main friend, the new gravicious chest mod is a must. A lightning coil will go a long way also.
The main idea is to farm Heist for a fledgling, it adds 60% damage to the build, being able to easily hit 3M DPS WITH 1 SPECTRAL HELIX
The late tree actually doesn't add much damage, but rather more defences and life
For late game you can even switch to a tri-element claw and swap cold penetration for trinity, freeing up a glove slot
For super late game if you want more damage you can actually switch to Deadeye to get Far Shot + more defences with Wind Ward, allows you to use an influenced helmet with mana reservation + phys as ele + phys as ele from Jun. This switch will required spell supression and ailment immunity on gear/tree but will take the build to the next level
And obviously, you can still go the Omniscience route eventually, I don't even bother PoB'ing that since this is meant for pseudo casual SSF
